Working in tandem with the traditional skills of the trade, 3D scanning and Computer Aided Design (CAD) have revolutionised the jewellery industry, changing the way that customers and jewellers create bespoke jewellery and document and preserve precious personal items.
How it works.
Preserving your most treasured jewellery pieces and storing a safe digital profile to pass on to future generations is simple with our 3D scanning service.
Our ECHO 3D scanning device projects structured blue light technology in a complex series of movements and patterns across your jewellery item. This is captured by a dual-camera system, allowing the scanner to interpret the play of light across the item’s surface and generate a point cloud within a virtual space. The computer then converts the point cloud into a solid image ready for 3D modelling or printing.
After the scanning process, a file is created containing all the information needed should you wish to recreate the piece in the future and you receive a certificate with a unique identification code.
In addition to your 3D scan, Phenix also recommends arranging a valuation certificate so you have a complete digital profile of your piece.
