Whether yours is a unique, one-off piece, a brand new investment or a much-loved favourite, making sure you have the appropriate level of insurance is important. A valuation certificate is key to this. In the instance of a claim, a valuation certificate can provide our team of claim validators with the information they need to complete the replacement assessment of your item. It can also provide your jewellery consultant with the necessary information to source a suitable replacement or have your piece recreated.

Phenix works with independent valuers and gemologists to provide you with peace of mind. All our valuers are registered with the National Council of Jewellery Valuers (NCJV) and are qualified gemologists. The valuation certificate they issue is a legal document that includes a detailed description of your item, a photograph and a value based on current market factors, such as the US exchange rate and the gold price.

Given how much the jewellery market fluctuates, it’s important to make sure the pieces you value so much aren’t being undervalued by your insurance. We suggest taking your items to be cleaned, inspected and valued every 2-3 years, and updating your policy accordingly.

We also recommend booking a 3D scan of your item with us, to provide the peace of mind that comes with knowing you can access a securely stored digital copy of your item whenever you require it.
