A valuation certificate is completed by an independent jewellery valuer. All of our valuers are registered with the National Council of Jewellery Valuers (NCJV) and are qualified Gemmologists. The valuation certificate is a legal document that includes a detailed description of the item, a photograph and value based on the current US dollar and gold price. The value determined is based on the expert opinion of the valuer, and may differ slightly from the Phenix recommended retail price.

In the case of loss, theft or damage, the valuation certificate will provide our team of validators all of the information they need to complete the replacement assessment of your item. A valuation certificate can also provide your jewellery consultant with the necessary information to source an equivalent replacement or have the piece remade.

Valuation certificates are especially useful when insuring your item, as the price is based on insurance replacement value and indicates the amount you should specify your item for.  We recommend submitting your jewellery items every 2-3 years for a routine clean, check and updated valuation. This ensures your insurance policy is up to date.

Phenix also recommends getting a 3D scan of your item, so you can keep a digital copy of your item should you it remade or remodelled.

Phenix currently offers jewellery valuation services for $59 per piece*, with a retail value of $79.
